2. Decide what aspect of your listening you want to improve. Vocabulary? Pronunciation? grammar?
EliminarDecide qué aspectos de la habilidad de escucha quieres mejorar. ¿Te quieres enfocar en el vocabulario?, ¿en la pronunciación o entonación?, etc.
• Set yourself a goal. It's best not to aim too high, unless you have lots of time free to dedicate to your listening. Think of one or two aspects of your listening that you'd like to improve.
Póngase una meta. Es mejor no apuntar demasiado alto, a menos que tenga mucho tiempo libre para dedicar a su actividad. Piense en uno o dos aspectos de su escucha que a usted le gustaría mejorar.
• Choose a song or singer that you enjoy!
Seleccione una canción o cantante que usted disfrute.
• Try to find songs that match your goal and level. Do the songs contain the Vocabulary or Pronunciation features you want to practice? Do you want songs that tell a story, with a wide range of vocabulary, or do you want songs with a lot of repetition?
Trate de encontrar las canciones que responden a su objetivo y nivel. ¿Las canciones contienen los elementos de vocabulario o la pronunciación que quiere practicar? ¿Quieres canciones que cuentan una historia, con una amplia gama de vocabulario, o quieres canciones con mucha repetición?
• Find songs that have got printed lyrics (words). Even native speakers often mishear the words of some songs. So having the lyrics available is really vital when listening in a second language.

ResponderEliminar1. I decided to work with three songs: the first was Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, and the third was All Along The Watchtower by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. In both songs, I had difficulty understanding some words, but as the song went on, my ear adapted to the language. However, on more than one occasion, I had to repeat the same part several times to understand what it was saying. The song by The Jimi Hendrix Experience was the hardest to understand due to the speed and the way the words were pronounced.
